In just-eat we have quite a few Danes and it makes them laugh whenever they see the UK grind to a halt over a few inches of snow! I have to say that although I am a proud Brit in this case I have to agree. It is so frustrating that after literally a few centimetres of the stuff whole roads are blocked and it is chaos. Up until now it has not affected me as I am pretty resilient at finding a way through but having left my house at 6.00 this morning to try and get to Manchester from the South East I have to confess that this time I simply could not get the car through the roads….annoying but at least I have my blackberry and laptop to keep me sane.
On the weather note all of us at Just-Eat.co.uk have ‘big respect’ to all the UK’s takeaways who manage to keep battling to ensure takeaways meals are delivered through the last and next few days. It is only when it becomes really bad that they park the scooters up for the night. Over 80% of orders were delivered last night in the UK even though conditions in certain parts were pretty poor. If only our local councils had their spirit I am sure the roads would be kept clear and I would have been in Manchester today!
