Haggis? Is that the hairy chap in Harry Potter?

Our team have been in Glasgow recently spreading the word about Just-Eat, and we thought it would d be a bit of fun to see just how much people know about haggis across the UK. It turns out not a lot…

Our research team have found that 18% of Brits believe haggis to be an animal, whilst 68% of Scots said theyd like the delicacy to be available as a takeaway option.

We conducted a study of 1,623 Brits with a view to understanding their knowledge of traditional Scottish food.

The survey revealed that 68% of Scots would like to see Haggis delivered to their door as an online takeaway option, while 41% of Brits didnt know what the traditional Scottish dish was.

Many of those polled were unsure of what haggis actually was, with 15% admitting they thought it was a Scottish musical instrument. The study revealed that a fifth, 18%, of Brits think that haggis is a hill top dwelling animal – whilst 4% admitted to thinking it was a character from Harry Potter.

Of the 781 Scots that were polled, 68% said they would like to order haggis online from a local takeaway and have it delivered to their door whilst 14% of Scots werent sure what haggis was.
