This is a very painful post for me to write! I have received a few mails and also one text message asking what was happening on new years day for 2.5 hours. Due to the very high number of visitors on the site and extremely high demand for just-eat.co.uk the servers were unable to keep up. This then caused a chain of events that led to our servers being unable to cope and restart and ultimately led to the site performance being not operational for you our customers. There are NO excuses for any of us at just-eat, we knew and had planned for this day. Rest assured that all of the team here at just-eat will be working very hard to make sure this never happens again.
In the mean time let me take this opportunity to wish you all a happy new year and assure you the site is back to its operational best so feel free to order your takeaway the smart way. A clip that my wife shared with me that finally brought a smile to my face and ‘probably’ explains what happened!
