‘Just Going to Work tomorrow?’

A member of my dad’s  family (Gareth Kehoe)  is featured here on this BBC  news clip. I don’t know Gareth personally but know from his Aunt (Denise Buttress my dad’s wife) as I often ask how he is doing that all the family have been really concerned about him during his tour of duty in Afganistan.

It made me smile to hear Gareth say he was just doing his job really no big deal, his job was to search for IED’s in Afganistan and one of his good friends was killed during this tour!  He is right to say this though. In many ways I am sure it is that mentality that is key in getting through any major challenge in your professional life.   We all have tasks that are challenging in our daily professional lives but what struck me about Gareth’s comments was that it is not the size of the challenge that is key but the attitude and mentality of the person facing the challenge. Just do what it takes and get the job done, don’t moan and groan, do the very best you can and back the team up. Brilliant stuff and what I hope Just-Eat’s culture will be!

I also loved the modesty of his interview it says it all to some extent.
